Cruise Ship Credited With Saving 6 Lives At Sea

A Carnival cruise ship from Port Canaveral is being credited with saving the lives of 6 men who were stranded in the ocean near the Dominican Republic on Wednesday morning. The men had been aboard a small cargo vessel that capsized overnight. The ship’s officers spotted six men on a life raft and stopped to rescue them and bring them on board. The Dominican Republic Coast Guard responded, and is now leading the search for six other crew members from the capsized vessel who are still missing. The Vista was able to return to its previous route after the rescue, and continue a six-day itinerary that departed Sunday from Port Canaveral.
