Sebastian Business Hit With Fines For Sewage Issue

A business in Sebastian has been ordered to Connect to the central sewer or they will face a fine of $500 per day. The Environmental Control Hearing Board of Indian River County issued an order earlier this month to the owners of the No Name Sports Bar in Sebastian, to connect to the County’s sewer system by February 8th. But now, the board has decided that the business owners have not taken any steps yet to do so, so they have been ordered to shut down the indoor restrooms and to provide a temporary handwashing station next to a port-a-potty. They also were ordered to pay $500 per day from October 18th until this coming February 1st, which could be reversed if they connect to the sewer and comply with other aspects of the order… including the proper abandonment of the septic tank.
