SpaceX Completes Thursday Night Double Header

SpaceX launched a Falcon Heavy rocket at 8:07pm yesterday from pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center. The national security mission took the Space Force’s X-37B space plane… the so-called ‘mini-shuttle’… into orbit for what will now be its seventh secretive mission. Loud sonic booms were heard up and down the Space Coast when the twin side boosters touched down at the landing zones at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Then, just after 11 last night, SpaceX launched a second rocket. A Falcon 9 took more Starlink internet satellites into low-Earth orbit from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The first stage booster from that launch successfully landed on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean, so no sonic booms were heard locally from that flight.
