If you haven’t already done so, you only have until Monday to register to vote or change your party affiliation for the August 20 primary elections. Florida’s closed-primary system means that only registered Republicans can vote in Republican primaries and Democrats in Democratic primaries. All registered voters can participate in nonpartisan races, including for school board and local government positions. To register or update party affiliation, visit local Supervisor of Elections offices or use the online portal at www.VoteBrevard.gov. Early voting will run from August 10 to August 17 at various locations.
