NASA / Starliner Media Conference Set For Thursday Morning

After a series of technical issues caused several delays in its launch, and then more technical issues surfaced after it did launch and more now are surfacing as it remains attached to the International Space Station long after its original departure date, NASA and Boeing will provide an update on the Boeing Starliner Crew Flight Test Mission during a teleconference scheduled for 11:30AM Thursday. The briefing will cover recent data from ground tests of the Starliner reaction control system, crucial for the spacecraft’s approach and return phases. The mission, which includes astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, is described as an end-to-end test of the Starliner system, crucial for certifying it for future missions. So far, the results are being viewed as somewhat less than satisfactory.
