A Brevard County grand jury has indicted 23-year-old Brandon Cain on charges of first-degree premeditated murder. Cain is accused of fatally shooting his father, 52-year-old Daniel Cain Jr., on July 3 before calling 911 and reporting the incident. Initially claiming self-defense, Cain’s story was contradicted by surveillance footage that actually showed him shooting his father as he was unarmed and seated outside. Cain has been held without bond since his arrest, and he now actually faces multiple charges, including reckless discharge of a firearm. A trial date has not been set.
