Polaris Dawn Crew Safely Returns To Earth

The Polaris Dawn mission has successfully returned to Earth after its groundbreaking flight from Florida’s Space Coast. The Crew Dragon capsule, carrying four civilian astronauts, splashed down near the Florida Keys early Sunday morning. The mission, which achieved an altitude of over 870 miles, included the world’s first commercial spacewalk by Cmdr. Jared Isaacman and SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis. The crew also conducted nearly 40 science experiments and performed a unique violin performance in orbit. SpaceX welcomed the crew back with a warm reception.
