Cape Canaveral Residents Report Dead Mourning Doves

Residents in Cape Canaveral are reporting numerous dead mourning doves in neighborhoods, yards and vacant lots. City officials have contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and are urging residents to report sightings. Authorities have not determined a cause, and no test results have been announced.

Sanford Zoo Euthanizes Another Rescued Sloth

The Central Florida Zoo in Sanford says a rescued sloth named Willow has been euthanized after her health declined despite veterinary treatment. SpaceX Launches BlueBird Satellites From Cape Canaveral

SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station early today, carrying AST SpaceMobile’s BlueBird 8, 9 and 10 satellites into low-Earth orbit. The rocket lifted off at 2:39 a.m., and its first-stage booster later landed aboard a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean, completing its 29th mission.

Jetty Park Unveils New Pavilion And Playground

Port Canaveral has opened a new pavilion and playground at Jetty Park as part of a multi-million-dollar improvement project at the popular destination. The new amenities were unveiled June 14 during a Flag Day celebration featuring food, games and giveaways. Jetty Park attracts about 400,000 visitors each year.
