Residents of Merritt Island are voicing opposition to a proposed liquefied natural gas plant near Port Canaveral. The facility, planned on port-owned land, would supply fuel for cruise ships and space launches and could create 50-100 jobs. Residents cited safety risks and proximity to homes. A public forum is scheduled for February 18th.
