A proposal moving through the Florida Legislature would require most 8 year old children to ride in booster seats. House Bill 233 would expand current child restraint rules to include kids ages six through eight, unless the child is at least four feet nine inches tall. The bill is still awaiting committee action in Tallahassee. If approved by lawmakers and signed by the governor, the requirement would take effect July first.
