Firefighters brought a five acre brush fire under control Thursday in the Palm Shores area of Brevard County. Flames burned near Wickham Road and the Pineda Causeway, close to Faith Fellowship Church and Holy Trinity School. No homes were evacuated, but the school released students early and canceled after school activities. Crews responded within minutes and kept the fire from spreading further.
