Cocoa Man Killed After Running Red Light, Striking Car And Flipping Truck

A 49-year-old Cocoa man died Wednesday after speeding through a red light on U.S. 1, striking another vehicle, then hitting a utility pole, and overturning his pickup. Witnesses told Florida Highway Patrol the truck ran the red light near Blacks Road around 6:34 p.m. The other driver, a 45-year-old Cocoa woman, was not injured. The pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
