36 year old David Williams Chappele Jr. has agreed to a two-year prison sentence and 13 years of supervised drug-offender probation in connection with the 2017 death of an 8-month-old in Brevard County. Chappele and 36 year old Jessica Marie Strickland were accused of aggravated manslaughter after the infant ingested fentanyl from Chappele’s patches and cocaine residue from Strickland while co-sleeping. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office says the child was placed between them on a mattress and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Strickland previously served part of a 270-day sentence for the same charge.
