Orlando Airport Prepares For Major Tram Upgrades During Holiday Travel

Orlando International Airport will begin a multi-year upgrade to its aging tram system on Dec. 3, affecting passenger movement during the busy holiday season. Each new tram will carry up to 240 passengers, but only one tram per gate will run during construction. Buses will transport travelers while trams are offline overnight, and airport officials say passengers should plan extra time to reach their gates. The project is expected to finish in fall 2027.
