Coyotes are becoming more common here in Brevard County, and now the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says they are being seen more often in every county statewide. Now is their mating season, and animal experts say it’s a time when they’re most protective, which can also make them aggressive, and therefore… it’s a time for people to be extra cautious. Coyotes are excellent hunters and predators, and they particularly target small animals such as dogs and cats. Make sure you don’t leave small pets outside unattended.
