Weather Looks Good For Weekend Launch

SpaceX’s plans to launch a billion dollar European space telescope this weekend should not be affected by the weather. Forecasters say so far, it appears that weather conditions should be almost perfect for the launch at 11:11am on Saturday. It’s an instantaneous launch window, which means if it doesn’t go up at exactly 11:11am, it will be scrubbed. Today, forecasters with Space Launch Delta 45 say weather conditions around launch complex 40 should be about 90% “go” at launch time. After liftoff, the Falcon 9 rocket’s first stage will target another successful landing on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. Saturday’s launch… if all goes as planned… will mark the Space Coast’s 33rd mission so far this year.
