Macy’s Announces Plans To Shut Down 150 Stores – No Word On Fate Of 2 Brevard Macy’s Yet

Is Macy’s headed down the same road that Sears followed? Some observers say that could be. Macy’s has announced plans to shutter 150 of its stores across the country, but so far, the company has not revealed just which stores will be affected. There are two Macy’s stores in Brevard County… One at the Melbourne Square Mall, and the other in the Merritt Square Mall on Merritt Island. The stores that Macy’s now calls “unproductive” will all close by 2026. 50 of them are expected to shut down before the end of this year. As of right now, there has been no indication if the Brevard County Macys stores are on the closure list.
