Winter Park Man Dives Into Eclipse In Arkansas And Discovers Plane Crash

A skydiver from Winter Park captured a unique view of the recent solar eclipse while free-falling. Joshua Laquis, a skydiving enthusiast who trained at SkyDive Deland in Volusia County, traveled to Arkansas to experience the eclipse’s totality mid-air. As he descended, Laquis noticed a nearby plane crash, prompted by an engine failure. He landed at the accident site. Four people were taken to the hospital, and they all fortunately survived the incident. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Laquis described the eclipse experience as incredible. He said the sky was noticeably darker than he anticipated during the free fall.
