In Volusia County, an investigation is underway following a deadly incident involving a train in Holly Hill. It happened around 2am Saturday at the intersection of the tracks with 3rd Street. According to investigators, a woman in her 60s was attempting to cross the tracks when she was struck by a freight train traveling at less than 50 mph. The conductor and train remained at the scene for hours while detectives gathered evidence. The conductor was cleared of any wrongdoing. Deputies are still working to identify the victim and notify her next of kin. The investigation meanwhile, continues.
