Some residents of one part of southern Brevard County are pushing for increased safety measures at the intersection of Babcock Street and Grant Road, citing a surge in accidents as the area undergoes rapid growth. The current two-way stop has seen numerous collisions, including fatalities, prompting calls for a traffic light installation. According to Palm Bay’s city engineer, a recent study by the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization highlighted Babcock and Grant as a high-risk location, particularly for motorcycle accidents.
