Badcock Home Furniture & More, a long-standing retailer with locations throughout the south, including here in Brevard County, is shutting down all its stores by the end of October. The closure comes in the wake of its parent company Conn’s filing for bankruptcy last week. With over 380 locations across the southern U.S., including in Florida, Alabama, and Virginia, Badcock’s closure affects about 3,800 full-time and 150 part-time employees. Conn’s, which acquired Badcock last year, is also closing approximately 70 of its own stores. The move follows financial troubles and a recent notification from Nasdaq about delays in financial reporting.
