NASA And Boeing Admit Astronauts Return On Starliner “Too Risky”

It’s now official… NASA has announced that the Boeing Starliner will return uncrewed from the International Space Station in September. The mission’s astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, will stay aboard the ISS and return with Crew 9. But that means they will remain in space until February 2025. The extension will see their stay at the ISS stretch to about eight months after they originally expected to be there for only about a week. Meanwhile, the SpaceX Crew 8 capsule will be modified to accommodate six astronauts if needed, and the Crew 9 mission will be adjusted to include only two of its original crew members.
