Researchers say the northern curly-tailed lizard, native to the Bahamas, is becoming increasingly common across Central Florida. The invasive species is now considered well established and is often found around parking lots and sidewalks. Wildlife officials are asking residents to report sightings to help track its spread.

31 year old Jalyn Binion has been captured after escaping from a Volusia County housing facility. Deputies say U.S. Marshals and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested Binion at a Vero Beach home after he reportedly tried to jump from a second-story window. He had been serving time on grand theft charges.
