Escaped Volusia Inmate Captured in Vero Beach

31 year old Jalyn Binion has been captured after escaping from a Volusia County housing facility. Deputies say U.S. Marshals and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested Binion at a Vero Beach home after he reportedly tried to jump from a second-story window. He had been serving time on grand theft charges.

Former Orlando Nurse Sentenced in Sexual Assault Case

A former Orlando psychiatric nurse has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old patient. Fernando Ortiz-Marrero was convicted of lewd and lascivious touching of a minor and sexual assault on a client after the attacks at University Behavioral Health Center last year.

Hurricane Center Monitoring Area Off Florida Coast

Three Alligator Attacks Reported Across Central Florida

One woman died after being bitten while swimming, while a juvenile and a snorkeler survived separate attacks. SpaceX Launches Satellite From Cape Canaveral

World’s Largest Cargo Plane Returns to Melbourne

The world’s largest operating cargo plane made a rare stop at Melbourne Orlando International Airport on Sunday. The Ukrainian-operated Antonov AN-124 arrived from Germany to load more than 50,000 pounds of aerospace equipment bound for the Pacific Northwest.
