Flooded Fields Sideline Cocoa Little League

Fall baseball games and practices at Cocoa’s Stradley Park are on hold because of flooding, potholes and uneven sod. The field conditions also forced organizers to abandon plans for regional tournaments. Cocoa owns the park, while Brevard County handles maintenance. Officials have not announced when repairs will be completed.

Former Sloth World President Seeks Stricter Rules

Sloth World’s former president is asking Florida wildlife officials to tighten captive-sloth regulations following several deaths from a fatal virus. Benjamin Agresta wants deaths reported within 12 hours, pre-license facility inspections and bans on public touching, feeding and traveling sloth shows. The state is considering new rules.

SeaWorld Offers Free Admission to Florida Teachers

Florida-certified K-12 classroom teachers can apply for free admission to SeaWorld Orlando through the Florida Teacher Card. The card provides year-round park access and is valid through Sept. 2, 2027. For a limited time, teachers can also buy tickets for up to two guests for $38.99 each.

Michigan Man Dies After Lightning Strike in Celebration

C-23 Canal Diversion Project Completed

Florida has completed the $50 million C-23 Canal Estuary Discharge Diversion Project. The project includes a seven-mile canal and a three-pump station capable of moving 112,000 gallons of water per minute. Excess water from the C-23 Canal will be routed to the C-44 Reservoir and treatment area, reducing harmful discharges into the St. Lucie Estuary. […]

SpaceX Launch Could End Space Coast Quiet Spell
