Ed launched his radio career in 1975 and has spent more than five decades in the broadcasting industry. During that time, he has served in a wide range of roles including Air Personality, News Director, Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager at numerous radio stations in various markets across the country. Beyond on-air and management responsibilities, Ed has also worked extensively on the technical side of broadcasting. His background includes RF engineering and information technology, with particular experience configuring digital automation systems and remote voice-tracking platforms used by stations across the country. Ed was also among a select group of industry professionals invited by Google to its California headquarters following the company’s acquisition of Scott Studios. He was one of just 12 broadcasters nationwide chosen to participate in discussions and provide input during the design and rollout of Google’s digital broadcast automation platform. Although the majority of Ed’s career—spanning roughly four decades—was rooted in music radio, he transitioned into news and information programming in 2012. He says the move into spoken-word broadcasting was a natural evolution after decades of experience in multiple areas of the industry.

Saharan Dust To Bring Hazy Skies and Hotter Weather

A huge plume of Saharan dust is expected to reach Central Florida late today, bringing hazy skies, fewer afternoon storms and even hotter temperatures into the weekend. Forecasters say the dust could also create colorful sunrises and sunsets while limiting tropical development.

Florida Supreme Court Clears Way for Execution

The Florida Supreme Court has lifted a stay of execution for former police officer James Duckett, clearing the way for his death sentence to move forward. Duckett was convicted in the 1987 murder of 11 year old Teresa McAbee. The court said recent DNA testing produced inconclusive results.

Public Works Employee Airlifted After Electrical Accident

A Volusia County Public Works employee was airlifted to a hospital after equipment struck an energized power line Wednesday in Edgewater, sparking a fire. A second worker was also involved but was not reported injured. The injured worker’s condition has not been updated.

AT&T To End Traditional Florida Landline Service

AT&T plans to phase out its traditional copper-wire landline service in Florida by 2029, citing aging infrastructure and a sharp decline in customers. The company says affected users will be moved to wireless or fiber-based services while keeping voice and 911 access.

Father Sentenced in 12-Year-Old Son’s Death

A Brevard County father has been sentenced to 38 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the 2021 beating death of his 12 year old son, Noah Godleski. The plea reduced an original first-degree murder charge. Family members say they were disappointed the case will not go to trial.

Artemis II Crew Returns to Kennedy Space Center
