Ed launched his radio career in 1975 and has spent more than five decades in the broadcasting industry. During that time, he has served in a wide range of roles including Air Personality, News Director, Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager at numerous radio stations in various markets across the country. Beyond on-air and management responsibilities, Ed has also worked extensively on the technical side of broadcasting. His background includes RF engineering and information technology, with particular experience configuring digital automation systems and remote voice-tracking platforms used by stations across the country. Ed was also among a select group of industry professionals invited by Google to its California headquarters following the company’s acquisition of Scott Studios. He was one of just 12 broadcasters nationwide chosen to participate in discussions and provide input during the design and rollout of Google’s digital broadcast automation platform. Although the majority of Ed’s career—spanning roughly four decades—was rooted in music radio, he transitioned into news and information programming in 2012. He says the move into spoken-word broadcasting was a natural evolution after decades of experience in multiple areas of the industry.

Palm Bay Weighs Purchase of Former Golf Course

Palm Bay leaders are considering buying a 135-acre abandoned golf course in the Bayside Lakes area. The property could be turned into a regional park, walking trails and stormwater improvements instead of housing. The City Council is expected to discuss the proposal, including its $10.5 million asking price.

Teen Drowns at Daytona Beach During Holiday Weekend

Authorities say the body of a missing 17 year old Orlando teen was recovered Saturday after he was caught in a rip current at Daytona Beach Friday evening. The drowning was the second along Volusia County beaches in less than 72 hours, prompting renewed warnings to swim only near lifeguards.

Deputy Injured by Indirect Lightning Strike in Seminole County

A Seminole County Sheriff’s deputy is expected to recover after being indirectly struck by lightning Sunday at Mullet Lake Park in Geneva. Fire officials say lightning hit a nearby tree and the electrical current traveled to the deputy, who was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Lightning Strike Hospitalizes Volusia Lifeguard

A Volusia County Beach Safety lifeguard was hospitalized after a lightning strike in Ormond Beach Saturday. Officials say a patrol vehicle was struck while Damien Curry was standing beside it, and the electrical current transferred to him. Curry was treated, released from the hospital and is recovering at home.

NASA Seeks Volunteers for Simulated Moon and Mars Mission

Merritt Island Celebrates Independence Day With Annual Parade

Operation Stonegarden Leads to 18 Immigration Detentions in Brevard

Police Hall of Fame Building Sold in Titusville

The former Police Hall of Fame building in Titusville has been sold for $10.95 million to Knight LLC, the company behind Knight’s Armament. The museum closed in March and remains the subject of a county audit and a Brevard County Sheriff’s criminal investigation into the use of public grant money awarded for an expansion project.
